Heutige Unternehmen sind meist fokussiert auf Profit durch den Verkauf von Produkten und damit zusammenhängende Volumen- und Umsatzsteigerung. Der Produktfokus führt zu einer linearen Denkweise die Ressourcenbasis am Anfang der Wertschöpfungskette und die Müll am Ende der Kette ignoriert. Es mangelt an Bewusstsein bei Konsumenten und Produzenten und in jedem Einzelnen, darüber was Circular Economy bedeutet, und dass sie nur durch Zusammenarbeit umsetzbar ist. Es mangelt auch an Wissen darüber, was uns die Circular Economy für Vorteile bringt.
